I look forward to welcoming you in Vienna
Bernhard K. Keppler, Conference chairman Institute of Inorganic Chemistry
It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you cordially to participate in the ICBIC 13 – International Conference on Biological Inorganic Chemistry, to be held in Vienna from July 15–20, 2007. The conference focuses on the frontiers of all aspects of Biological Inorganic Chemistry and follows meetings in Ann Arbor, USA (2005), Cairns, Australia (2003), Florence, Italy (2001) ...
This will be a special occasion as it is the first time since its inception that this important international scientific event will take place in Austria. Bioinorganic chemistry is one of the most active areas in chemistry and we have no doubt that ICBIC 13 will provide an additional stimulus for the development of this field.
The conference will cover all topics of biological inorganic chemistry including Metals in medicine – therapeutics and diagnostics, Metalloproteins, Metal interactions with DNA/RNA/nucleotides, Bioinspired coordination chemistry, Bioinspired catalysis, Metal trafficking, Electrontransfer and radicals, Metal-based environmental chemistry, Biomineralization, Bioinorganic clusters and nanoparticles, Metal sensors in biology, Biophysical and theoretical calculations on metal-clusters and -proteins, Bioinorganic prebiotic chemistry.
We are proud that beside the Nobel Prize laureate Hartmut Michel, Ivano Bertini, Shunichi Fukuzumi, Isabel Moura, and Amy Rosenzweig agreed to give Plenary Lectures. About 120 keynote and session lectures have confirmed their attendance. In addition, 120 session lecturers will be selected from the submitted abstracts.
A highlight of the program will be the presentation of the 1st SBIC Early Career Award Lecture (http://www.sbic-home.org/). This Award was recently established to recognize significant scientific contributions to our field by an early-career scientist.
I look forward to welcoming you in Vienna.
Sincerely,
Bernhard K. Keppler
Conference chairman
