Late abstracts will still be accepted and reviewed by the Scientific Organizing Committee. However, since the deadline has expired, they can no longer be published as a Supplement to an Issue of the Journal of Biological Inorganic Chemistry. Instead, the abstracts will be published as a Supplement to an Issue of Chemistry & Biodiversity. Abstracts can be submitted only online on the website.
Important
1.
Please note that you may be co-author of any number of abstracts, but presenting author of only one abstract.
2.
You will have to register and pay the registration fee for your abstract to be included in the reviewing process. Online registration is possible via the conference website. Authors of papers which were rejected during the reviewing process, and who wish to withdraw from the meeting, may be refunded the registration fee at no charge.
3.
Deadline for Abstract Submission: Late breaking abstract submission is still open.
Please read the instructions carefully before proceeding to the submission.
Abstract Format
-
The text cannot exceed 250 words, excluding title and authors.
-
A maximum of two institutions per author is allowed.
-
Tables and graphics may be included, however, 25 words will be added to the total word count for each table and/or graphic. A graphic must not exceed 7 x 5 cm (width x height), the table may not consist of more than 5 columns and 8 rows.
-
References and Acknowledgments may be included in the abstract text but will be added to the total word count.
Technical Notes
-
Before starting the submission, type your abstract in a common Word Processor (e.g. MS Word). Please save a copy of the file with the abstract text only (no title or authors). This file can then be used for a "file upload" (most convenient way of submission). Note that the system is optimized for MS Internet Explorer 6.0.
-
The upload feature supports and converts tables (but no graphics) within the document. Special characters are widely supported.
-
Graphics have to be uploaded in a separate step.
-
Please note that, as a rule, the graphic will be displayed at the bottom of the abstract. You may change the location of the graphic as follows:
Either:
After the upload, click on "Edit Abstract"
Locate "$$graphic_{ABC1234….…}$$"
Cut this sequence and paste it at the correct location within the abstract
Or:
Insert a placeholder ("[GRAPHIC]") at the correct location. When editing the abstracts before printing, the graphic will be placed accordingly.
-
Tables may have a maximum size of 5 columns x 8 rows. Although the upload function will recognise the location of the table, you may nevertheless re-locate it as follows:
Either:
After the upload, click on "Edit Abstract"
Locate "$$table_{ABC1234….…}$$"
Cut this sequence and paste it at the correct location within the abstract

General Information on Abstract Submission and FAQ
Browser Issues:
-
The system is optimized for MS Internet Explorer 6.0. Some advanced features will be available only with this browser. However, submission is possible with other browser versions (Internet Explorer and Netscape) 4.0 and up.
-
Cookies must be enabled on your system.
Account management - Personal Information - Password:
-
Please create one account per submitting author. The system stores your information. If you choose to submit more than one abstract you will not need to create another account. See "Returning users". Please note however that you may be co-author of any number of abstracts, but presenting author of only one abstract.
-
After you created the account, the system will display a password and username that will allow you to return and edit, delete or withdraw your abstract at a later stage.
-
Personal information can be edited if necessary by clicking the "Profile" icon (e.g. in case of an address change). Attention: All correspondence regarding the acceptance of your abstract will be mailed to the address given by you in the "profile section". Please provide a working email address.
Corrections - Withdrawal:
-
Titles of submitted abstracts are displayed in the Welcome Area, together with the information on whether the submission is complete or incomplete. To edit one of these abstracts, simply click on the title.
-
Changes and withdrawals can be made until the deadline of March 15, 2007.
-
The submission system stores the information in "real time". The moment you reach the "Summary" within the submission process and the system tells you "This submission is complete" your abstract is completed and has been received. However you will still be able to come back and make modifications until the deadline.
-
Please make sure you print the summary page for your records. The system also has an e-mail confirmation feature. Simply click the appropriate link on the summary page and fill in your email address(es) in the appropriate box.
